BigAmp Piezo's low noise class A amplifier provides 3 dB of high-end amplification followed by a low impedance, balanced output.

It has a 1/4' female jack input which accepts signals from piezo transducers. But also one of the cheap SBT's currently on the market have improved greatly since the last time I looked. BigAmp Piezo is a small sized high-quality FET instrument preamp which performs equally well on stage as it does in a studio environment. Another stellar alternative is the DYN-G (last time I looked, but I think they may have upgraded). These combinations (IMO) give the most natural sound with practically no tweaking, at least at low levels. (I do use a slight touch of overdrive occasionally, but that is not the same thing as proximity effect.) 4-Band EQ Equalizer Piezo Pickup EQ-7545R Pre-Amp Acoustic Guitar Preamp Amplifier Tuner 4-band equalizer, push bass/middle/treble to adjust volume frequency.

The best answer for me is the Fishman Aura installed in a Cordoba GK Pro (swapped for the Fishman Presys that comes stock, although that is no slouch either), or the Takamine CT4-DX replacing the CTP2 n my TC-132SC - where the "tube" effect of the CTP-2 is precisely the effect I want to avoid like the plague. Most of the soundhole and internal mics have this problem as well because they are close mic'd, they eliminate feedback, but the sound truly, truly sucks (I was at two Flamenco perfomances recently where they used boom mics to close mic the guitars, and the effect was of a huge rubber electric fan with no string articulation or quality whatever. isnt a piezo preamp just a buffer with a very high input impedance and tonestack wouldnt the SHO or Jack Ormans jfet buffer work with resistors changed so. MI-SI SPECIAL PREAMP FOR PASSIVE PIEZO PICKUPS (+CHARGER) The Mi-Si Crystal is designed to retrofit existing passive pickup systems to make them active. Now, some people may like that boomy sound, but it doesn't sound like an unplugged guitar the way I hear it (and want others to hear it when performing).

The problem is proximity effect the boomy bass that is added by close micing (since far micing invariably brings on feedback) This is an old thread, but for me a mic on a stand is a DISASTER for Flamenco.
